Bay Area Now 6
The sixth edition of YBCA’s signature triennial exhibition, Bay Area Now, a roundup of exemplary talent across an array of disciplines, with a visual arts exhibition showcasing artists and works, many created specifically for Bay Area Now 6.
Debuting in the summer of 1997, Bay Area Now is a platform for assessing the state of the visual arts in the San Francisco Bay Area region, and brings the public’s attention to the work of artists who were already making waves in the local art scene.
This series of large scale paintings explores otherworldly but grounded interior spaces, creating a play on both the landscape and still life tradition.
